Arlene Becks, running for Painesville City Council At Large
Arlene Becks was an at-large member of the Painesville City Council from 2001 to 2009.
She ran for reelection in but was deemed ineligible to run because of an error on her petitions.
In her questionnaire, she wrote she wants to help increase the budget through economic development and establish a new senior and recreation center.
She said she wants to develop the hospital green space with mixed development, seeking a new developer for affordable housing. She said a grocery store is long over due in the area.
“I was a former ... councilwoman with proven leadership and organizational skills through accomplished experiences,” she wrote. “I am the best choice for getting the job done and making a positive difference.”
