Bernadine Butkowski
Butkowski, 70, and a Republican, has served 16 years on City Council and
supported numerous ordinances from the regulation of construction of
wind turbines to online payments for utility bills. She is a charter
member and board member of the North Ridgeville Corn Festival Committee,
a member of North Ridgeville Arts Council and a Cleveland Hopkins
Airport Ambassador. She is a lifelong North Ridgeville resident who
attended St. Peter’s School and North Ridgeville High School.
If elected, Butkowski would like to see Center Ridge Road widened with help from federal resources.
“We have the plans and some of the money, but we must keep applying for
more funds to complete the project,” she said. “When the widening gets
started we must help the businesses that will be affected to remain in
the city.”
Butkowski said a new fire station is another top priority for the city.
“The city has grown and more equipment and manpower have been added, but
no more space has been supplied,” she said. “We have to start planning
and building a new fire station soon.”
