Bob Chapek
Chapek, 68 and a Democrat, has never held public office. He is a member
of the North Ridgeville Democratic Committee. The United States Army
veteran and graduate of Lorain County Community College and Ohio
University is retired from a 45-year career in research and development
and quality assurance management.
If elected, Chapek would like to attract jobs and commerce, maximize and
preserve home values, tackle flooding issues, support collective
bargaining rights, minimize traffic congestion, maximize pedestrian
safety and ensure maximum government transparency.
He said he will achieve this by reforming zoning ordinances and
following through with city ordinance enforcement. He also would like to
see green space expansion and more bike paths and sidewalks within city
limits.
Chapek said collaboration between leaders is key to bringing jobs to the city.
“I will work to attract more jobs to North Ridgeville by meeting with
state and local governments to see how to attract more businesses,” he
said.
