Pruce was appointed to a council vacancy in May. He was a Planning Commission member, a business owner and is a 35-year resident.
The U.S. Air Force veteran said he intends to retire from his business, Northcoast Signworks.
He previously owned Walkers Hardware & Garden Center in Willowick, where he worked for 25 years.
He would like to promote the city square as a destination and attract new businesses, to protect the city’s infrastructure through responsible decision-making on development, and increase communication with residents.
“I have worked for myself and outside companies,” he said. “I have been successful in keeping up with trends and issues to make business profitable and efficient. I would translate that experience into accountable and responsible decisions that would best suit the city.”
