Mallen, a Chardon resident for 16 years, also serves on the Ohio Public Works Commission District 7 Integrating Committee and is a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is a self-employed sales rep and works as a substitute teacher at various Geauga County schools.
His goals include supporting a proposed 55-and-older residential development, the Heritage House project, and helping to address the heroin epidemic.
“As a public official, this is front and center for me to take every opportunity to learn, inform, discuss and help wherever I can,” he said.
