Thomas O'Grady
O’Grady, 58, is the 12th-grade principal of Rhodes High School. A Berea native, O’Grady has spent the past 43 years living in North Olmsted.
The former North Olmsted mayor has a Master of Arts from Harvard University, as well as a Masters of Education and Bachelor of Arts from John Carroll University.
O’Grady, a registered Democrat, said his previous experience as mayor is why citizens should vote for him.
“The good people of North Olmsted know that I will be a full-time mayor and will return common sense to government,” he said. “During my first term as mayor, I reduced the cost of our city government by $1 million per year, every year that I was in office.”
O’Grady said he has three main goals:
• The first is to reinstitute the service director post. He plans to work with City Council to see the position return to North Olmsted
• The second goal is to reduce wastewater fees for residents, which he said have direct ties to the reintroduction of the service director position
• The third goal, O’Grady said he plans to look at the financial stability and reasonability of the mayor’s court.
“I humbly ask the citizens of North Olmsted for their confidence and their vote on Nov. 5,” O’Grady said. “I will repay that confidence many times over.”
