Jeschelnig, a 29-year Mentor resident, said her top priorities if elected include stabilizing school funding, improving the use of testing and improving curricula to prepare students for careers or post-secondary education right out of school.
Jeschelnig, 59, taught in the district for 18 years and believes that will allow her to share relevant insight as a board member.
“In order to contribute that education understanding, that insight into the process of teaching children in a classroom and the ramification that has in terms of policies that a board is asked to make ... steer our district in ways that make the very best education opportunities for children,” she said of why she was running.
