If elected, Ward wants to work with the board to ensure that all decisions — curricular and those relating to infrastructure — consider not only the financial impact, but also how they will affect students both now and in the future. She also would like to see more community involvement.
Ward said she would achieve this by interacting with the community at school events, explaining board matters to the community, developing a greater transparency regarding board matters and actively encouraging community leaders to participate with the board, including attendance at meetings.
