Zalek has 16 years of experience on the Board of Public Affairs in Fairport Harbor and has been involved with Fairport Harbor Mardi Gras, coaches in Painesville T-Ball and the Fairport VFW.
In his questionnaire, he said he would like to research how to get commercial and industrial companies into Painesville Township to fill vacant buildings and undeveloped property.
He said he wants to work with the Lake County Visitors Bureau to draw commercial, recreational and residential assets to the area.
“We have so much to offer as to access such as (Routes) 20, 2, 44 and 90,” he said.
“Now that I am retired, I can devote full time to this position of Painesville Township trustee,” he said.
