Jeffrey Smock for Chardon Council

Smock has lived in the city 28 years; and served as the city’s finance director, tax administrator and council clerk for more than two decades.
His objectives are to maintain city streets and infrastructure through sound financial planning and the city’s financial management and debt policy; to take an aggressive approach to collecting delinquencies; and to encourage economic development and a business-friendly atmosphere while preserving small-town charm.
“As the city’s former finance director and tax administrator for over 26 years and the clerk of council for over 22 years, I am the most knowledgeable candidate when it comes to municipal finance, making me uniquely qualified to serve the residents of Chardon,” he said.
