Carl J. Carter
Carter has been a resident of Richmond Heights for over 35 years, and he
has served as the chairman of the Richmond Heights Cultural Commission
since 2006. He also served on the committee to establish the Richmond
Heights Community Emergency Response Team.
As a council member, Carter said he would focus on creating a safe
living experience for the residents of Richmond Heights by “lending
support for the safety forces of our community and establishing
agreements with homeowners and property leasers to agree to, and
maintain zero tolerance for disruptive and illegal activity in our
city.”
He said that the city’s financial status is stressed, “like most
municipalities these days,” but would work diligently with his
colleagues to apply funding appropriately for safety services.
Carter would also like to focus on community involvement. He said he
would like to organize small neighborhood coffee clutches in hopes to
open dialogue with residents as a way to “empower our citizens to lend
expertise through volunteerism.”
He said neighborhood support may include checking on the elderly,
assisting with yard maintenance for disabled residents and monitoring
vacant properties in the community.
