Douglas E. Davidson for Kirtland City Council

Douglas E. Davidson
Davidson, a 45-year resident of the community, served as a ward councilman two years before filing to run for mayor, in 2011. His bid was cut short by a petition technicality.
He is involved with the Kirtland Athletic Boosters Board, Friends of the Kirtland Public Library, the National Guard Association of the United States and Kirtland PTA. He is married to Gina and has three children.
His goals include greater use of council’s standing committees in the areas of economic development and recreation. He also would like to see a lectern and microphone in council chambers, so residents can “be comfortable speaking their mind.”
“Voters and constituents want a councilman who will take their calls, listen to their concerns and advocate for them when necessary,” he said. “Constituents deserve a councilman who is willing to take a stand when needed, like voting against a raise for council in challenging economic times.”
