Phil Van Treuren, 36, is a single father of a 5-year-old daughter and has lived in the city for six years.
He said he feels the city is lucky to have a slate of terrific elected officials from both parties. If re-elected, he plans to continue to foster the cordial, non-partisan working relationship that has been developed. Van Treuren is interested in promoting the city's shared heritage and cultural history, and preserving the “hometown feel” the city has.
By making himself available, Van Treuren believes he does a good job communicating with residents and helping them with their problems. He said voters should elect him because he is “eager to continue helping residents interact with local government and play a part in that process.”
