Newsome was elected to the board of education in 2005. She is a chief
financial officer for Lorain Music and Vending Company and a 1992
graduate of Wellington High School.
If elected, Newsome said she would like to continue community relations
between the schools and public, maintaining open communication between
both. She said she also would like to continue exploring other options
for school funding as opposed to always turning to the taxpayers.
“In the past eight years I’ve been on the board we have faced many
issues both good and bad,” she said. “I feel I have remained positive
and optimistic through all of it and will continue to strive for
excellence and accountability. We are a family at Clearview and I want
to keep it that way.”
Newsome has two grown children and two still in the district.
