Michael David Kokinda Sr. for Clearview School Board

Michael David Kokinda Sr.

This is Kokinda’s first time running for public office. He is a credentialed trainer employed by Catholic Health Partners. Kokinda attended Lorain County Community College where he earned an associate of science degree.
If elected Kokinda would like to find ways to adjust curriculum to increase students’ mean ACT test scores while also tracking scores.
He is also interested in finding ways to improve school finances which he said have not improved since the Ohio Lottery was slated to provide funding for education.
“The state simply reduced funding from other areas that previously went toward public education,” he said. “School boards from across the state need to work together to address future funding of schools.”
Kokinda is an adjunct faculty member at Lorain County Community College and the Lorain County JVS which he said gives him a strong understanding of what students require to be prepared for post secondary education. He believes public education should be considered career training, and he hopes voters cast their vote for him.
“Clearview has a tight family feel and I have enjoyed being part of that over the past two-and-a-half decades,” he said. “I would love to share my experience and work ethic with the existing board to continually enhance our system.”
