If elected, Hare said he would like to address the potential merger between the Newbury and Berkshire districts and choose the best course of action for the community. He emphasized that school funding will always be a priority and fiscal management should be investigated to ensure school funds are beating utilized to best serve the students and community.
As a former athletic director and coach at Berkshire High School, Hare said he has demonstrated a commitment to the students as well as the athletes.
“I was creative in developing fundraisers and revenue streams that benefited the school district as a whole,” he said, adding that “By seeking alternative funding strategies, other than school levies, and evaluating fiscal policies, I believe we can strengthen the foundation of Berkshire Schools and restore many of the programs cut in the past due to budgetary limitations.”
Hare is a member of the Burton Elementary PTO.
