Desirea Thompson, running for Mentor-on-the-Lake City Council

Thompson, a seven-year resident, joined council by appointment in January.
Her non-elected office experience includes service on the Parks and Recreation Board. In addition, she is past secretary and trustee of Mentor Marsh Beach Club.
Thompson, too, sees support for city services and communication with residents as paramount.
Her ideas include making the city website more user-friendly and adding more information to the community’s cable TV channel.
“Our police department has a great Facebook page,” she said. “We can branch off of that, creating one for council, more social media for our residents.”
Thompson is married to John  and has two children.
